FABRIC RICHTHOFEN SQUADRON
Fabric Richthofen Squadron
Large piece of fabric from a Jasta 11 squadron. Large section of red,a small white band and a bigger black area, believed to from a Fokker D-7. Unfortunatly this originally had a paper tag glued to it stating"German aircraft canvas portion of top wing cross, shot down Western Front,Aug 1918. When the collector who purchased this from the family, bought it, the family insisted on cutting the piece out! Jasta 11 used red on the upper wing and the only loss that came near enemy lines in Aug was Ltn Max Festler , who was shot down on 11 Aug 1918, who was killed in action near La Chapellette. An intriguing item and great display piece. Measures 18" x 22" This is part of a large aviation collection that we have the opportunity to handle. The collector who had put this together was especially interested in the Red Baron and has collected some rare items. Here is a chance to add a superb item to your collection
